Literature transforms lives in poor NY neighbourhood from Still Waters in a Storm on Vimeo.

Welcome to the Reading and Spelling Channel

Since the adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) in 1948, education has been formally recognized as a fundamental human right. Literacy skills are an essential part of learning, and as such, improving reading skills has an impact on society as a whole.

At the Reading and Spelling Channel, we showcase a range of information on literacy and numeracy, as well as the available strategies and programmes in our resources section that are being used to improve learning for all (including the learning disabled, teenagers, struggling readers, adult learners and prisoners).

This website is aimed at parents and guardians, educators, researchers, children, youth and adults looking for answers, help and support.

Remember, it is never too late to learn to read and write. This website is for you!
